Grangehurst Red Blend is a classic Bordeaux-style cuvée and is without doubt the flagship of the Grangehurst Winery. Dark ruby red in the glass, this premium blend ensnares the nose with a seductive bouquet of red berry fruit, subtle mint tones, fragrant cedar wood and delicious mocha aromas. These notes, already picked up by the nose, are also seamlessly carried through to the palate, where soft and ripe tannins ensure stylish enjoyment.

    Treatment in the cellar

The grapes for this cuvée were hand-picked and upon arrival in the cellar they were sorted, completely destemmed and 50% crushed (the other 50% remained as whole berries). Fermentation took place in open fermenters, with the cap being submerged four to six times a day. The wine spent between 7 and 16 days on the skins and was then pressed in the traditional basket press and pumped into stainless steel tanks, where the malolactic fermentation was completed. The wine was neither refined nor filtered - clarification of the wine took place only by skimming the wine from the sediment that had settled. The wine then matured for 32 months in French barriques.
