Lomond Noble Late Harvest 2019 (500 ml)

Noble Late Harvest or NLH are wines made from grapes affected by noble rot. Officially known as Botrytis Cinerea, a fungus that attaches itself to the skins of grapes. The key here is that it does not cause the skin of the berries to split; it simply sucks the water out of the fruit, resulting in a highly concentrated sugar and acid content in the grapes. The grapes were harvested and crushed by hand with great care. The sweetness of the resulting grape juice is so high that it would be impossible for the yeast to ferment the wine into a dry style. The result is small quantities of deliciously sweet dessert wine. The wine aged for 12 months in third-stage French oak barrels.
