Two of the most traditional families in the Alentejo region, with centuries of experience in agriculture and viticulture, the Roquette family and the Castel-Branco Borges family, joined forces with the famous winemaker Peter Bright in 2004 to launch a very special project - Terra d'Alter, Companhia de Vinhos, Lda. was born.

The aim was to create a wine that would revolutionize the image and awareness of Portugal's Alentejo region at an international level. Thanks to the complementary combination of innovation and tradition, Terra d'Alter creates wines of guaranteed excellence. From the planting of the vineyards, to the selection of the grapes, to the cellar technology and bottling, quality is the fundamental strategy of this project.

The fruity and slightly acidic white wines of the winery, mainly created from the grape varieties Alvarinho, Arinto, Verdelho and Viognier, promise intense and authentic aromas. Terra d'Alters red wines from varieties such as Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, and Aragonez, present themselves with a fruity and fresh character as well as with lavishly soft and full-bodied characteristics, combined with fantastically balanced aromas.
