Deep black and red in colour with a vibrant, dynamic hue in the glass, Paserene Union reveals an exciting and complex bouquet of pencil, truffle, fruit cake and fragrant violets - incredibly expressive and multidimensional on the nose with further notes of sage, raspberry, red cherry jam, cola and iodine. On the palate full-bodied and dense, yet incredibly light-footed. Seamless tannins with slightly elevated acidity give the wine remarkable length and tension. A grandiose wine of wonderfully youthful and pure - almost innocent character.
The Paserene Marathon bottle label was designed by Cape Town-based artist Carmen Ziervogel and designer Lauren Ann McCarthy. The label's scene in the Tulbagh region features the characters of Paserene's Chardonnay and Marathon labels. The beautiful girl of the Chardonnays (Mother Nature) and the free-flying swallow of the Marathon (winemaker) have finally found a place to be together. All labels were pressed by hand in an old Heidelberg press.

The grapes fermented for one month in open concrete tanks and matured for 16 months after the end of fermentation in third and fourth-filled French oak barrels. After bottling, the wine spent another year in the bottle before being released for consumption.
