Tanagra Orange Liqueur 2020

Made from local and highly aromatic oranges of the Robertson region, harvested at optimal ripeness. The whole oranges, including pulp and peel, were first crushed and then subjected to a two-day maceration phase with the addition of pure alcohol (Alk. 96.4%). This was followed by a slow and gentle distillation. The distillate was gradually diluted with water over a period of 3 - 4 months until the desired alcohol content of 25 % was obtained. Addition of liquid invert sugar/syrup (68% sugar), resulting in (approx.) 180g sugar per litre. Tanagras Orange Liqueur was bottled unfiltered to preserve the aromatic fruit oils (may result in a slightly milky colour).
