Treatment in the cellar
After harvesting by hand, the grapes were transported to the cellar in small crates. After sorting, they were crushed in the whole bunch with the addition of a part of brandy in the traditional way in lagares by foot. Fermentation took place in these lagares for 2 days. When the must reaches the right sugar content, the fermentation is stopped with the addition of brandy and the Porto is matured for a minimum of 24 months in previously used wooden barrels, more than 100 years old, and stainless steel barrels before the different grape varieties are blended for the final bottling.
