Lanzerac Pinotage 2022

The grapes were hand-sorted with great care after harvesting and then completely destemmed, after which the individual berries were subjected to a second selection by hand and then lightly crushed. Fermentation took place with regular pumping over (every four hours) in stainless steel tanks to extract maximum color and aromas. Once fermentation was complete, the wine remained on the skins for an extended period, then was pressed and divided into free-run juice and pressed juice and fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. The wine was then placed in a combination of new, second, as well as third-filled French barriques, where it spent its 15 months of aging after the completion of malolactic fermentation, before being bottled.
