Kleine Zalze Family Reserve Chenin Blanc 2023

The grapes for this first-class Chenin Blanc were harvested by hand at different stages of ripeness and gently pressed. The juice spent 12-18 hours on the skin before being transferred to stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts. The juice was then transferred to 400 l French oak barrels, where fermentation was completed. No new wood was used, but only barrels filled with two, three and four barrels were used so as not to cover the delicate Chenin fruit. Finally, the wine spent another 8 months in the cask before the different Chenin barrels were blended. The wine was neither refined nor filtered before bottling.
